MELANIE X GOLDMINE BUNDLE - GOLDMINE SUMMER 2024 ISSUE W/ 'SONGS I SANG AT WOODSTOCK' 7” (Limited Edition – Only 100 Made, Exclusive Turquoise Vinyl)

As a tribute to singer-songwriter Melanie Safka (1947-2024) on the eve of Woodstock’s 55th anniversary, Goldmine has pressed a limited-edition 7-inch vinyl record of Melanie songs. This exclusive turquoise 7-inch (33 rpm) is limited to 100 copies and contains two songs — “Close to It All” and “Momma Momma” — from Melanie’s digital-only replaying of her setlist at Woodstock in 1969. Titled Songs I Sang at Woodstock, this unique performance of these songs has never been pressed on vinyl, so it will be a treat to Melanie fans and record collectors alike.

"Close to It All” (A-Side) and “Momma Momma” (B-Side) were the fist two songs of her memorable Woodstock performance, and these two renditions were performed by Melanie on acoustic guitar later in her life, recorded in a live studio setting and then remastered in 2023 as part of a digital-only setlist online for her fans and followers. It is presented here as a one-time only vinyl sampler of the beginning part of that recreated Woodstock 1969 setlist. A wonderful collector's item.

This unique 7-inch vinyl record is also bundled with the Summer 2024 edition of Goldmine magazine with Melanie on the cover. Get this bundle in time for Woodstock’s 55th anniversary and celebrate this gifted artist’s performance at that iconic festival!

Inside the magazine issue: Before Melanie Safka’s untimely passing at the beginning of this year, she set in motion a reissue campaign of her back catalog from 1971 onward. Along with Goldmine's 7-inch in the aforementioned bundle, Cleopatra Records (U.S.) and (Easy Action (U.K.) will release music from this back catalog, and material that has never seen the light of day. Author Dave Thompson details the scheduled releases of all this music to the world, including a ‘70s bootleg concert that was never pressed on vinyl (nor officially released).

"Talking with Melanie one time,” Thompson says, "she mentioned that she’d never had a ‘proper’ bootleg.” Prepare yourself for the ultimate celebration of Melanie’s musical journey!
